Thomas White

Founder, President

Tom was born and raised in upstate New York (Utica Area) and attended the New York State Merchant Marine Academy where he received a Bachelor of Engineering Degree and the United States Coast Guard Third Assistant Engineers License for Unlimited Steam and Motor Vehicles of unlimited horsepower.

Shortly after graduation Tom accepted a position with Carrier Air Conditioning Corporation as a Service Engineer where he was responsible for the evaluation of Carrier equipment, developing installation instructions, wiring diagrams, and diagnosing and repairing Carrier Equipment. He was later transferred to Carrier Midwest Distribution as a Distributor Service Manager covering the eastern half of Ohio, West Virginia and part of Northern Kentucky. In addition to troubleshooting HVAC system issues for Dealers and Contractors, he taught training classes and assisted in the development of service technicians and Service Departments. With this field experience Carrier wanted Tom to come back to Syracuse and “Climb the Corporate Ladder” however with his love for the Mid-West/Ohio Tom choose not to return to NY. He felt Ohio was a great place to raise a family and start a business, which led to the start of Accurate in the basement of a house on the East side of Chillicothe in 1977.

While the so called “road to success” for small business was (and continues to be) incredibly challenging, God was working on/with Tom as he built the business. Even before Tom became a Christian, he always felt that Accurate is everyone’s (employees) company and we are all working for our customers. Tom, inspired by David Green, Founder of Hobby Lobby, now feels/believes Accurate is God’s Company and we need to be good stewards of the company and good Shepherds/leaders of the people (employees and Customers) that God brings to us in order to hear from God “you have been a good and faithful servant”.
